Forecasting for future competencies may be done on several levels.
1. On a global level
On a global scale, competencies and jobs may become irrelevant if a particular industry experiences a prolonged decline in demand.

This is especially clear in the field of education. Even though this industry is not immune to digitalization, they still rely heavily on teachers for class materials.
