What do women's experiences in the workplace look like?

Understanding the motivations of engagement for women in Asia

Women are yet to have equal representation in the workforce. Despite advances in gender diversity and representation, women are often less-represented in leadership positions and disadvantaged in certain industries.

Engaging women is a challenge - and globally, we're finding that women are consistently disengaged. Understanding the reasons why is part of the battle, which is why our team at EngageRocket analysed our own data to present observed trends in our data.

Mind the generation gap: older women struggle with recognition as a driver of engagement.

Less than 20% of women belonging to the Boomer generation have been recognised for good work at their workplaces. Compared to Gen Z women, where almost 40% have received recognition.

There are sharp variances in the level of engagement between women working in different industries.

 

Over half (56.21%) of women in Education believe in the mission/purpose of their organization, compared to 11.76% in Utilities/Construction. Furthermore, just 11% of women in Utilities/Construction report that they are able to leverage their strengths in the workplace effectively. We explore why in the full report.

Women in technology have the weakest drivers in rewards and manager Support.

35% of women in education receive regular feedback and support from their managers, compared to just 11% in the Tech industry. Women in technology are also twice as likely as men to strongly disagree that they are rewarded fairly for their performance at work.
